A native of France, I arrived in the United States in 2003 in order to pursue a full-time art career. Primarily self-taught, I studied for a semester at the Beaux-Arts in Troyes, France, and more recently with Barbara Baldwin, Barbara Perrotti, Larry Moore and Morgan Samuel Price in Florida.
From the first day of my honeymoon in Key West, I realized I had found my spiritual home; Florida, with his color, warm and intense light. I enjoy painting Floridian landscapes in plein air, because I feel there is no better way to capture the hidden colors of the scenery.
I discovered oil pastel in 2004, and since have painted almost exclusively in this medium. I love the direct application of pure color on the support, without blending them prior to beginning my work. My greatest desire is to respect the quality of light, mood and tonality in my landscape. I use the Impressionist palette and Pointillist technique to interpret the inspiration I find in nature. The Golden Ratio is used to create the composition of my award-winning oil pastels.
I have recently accepted the challenge of teaching oil pastel classes, on opportunity offered me by my pastel teacher. Teaching theses classes at the Artists Workshop in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, as well as workshops in Florida and France have been a great source of enjoyment.
My work can be found in collections throughout the United States and Europe. Recent commissions include posters produces for “Absente liqueur” and “Pango Rhum” publicity campaigns.
